Julius' spindly legs
Today I dropped a bundle on a vet visit for my pretty orange cat, Julius. He has started showing more leg than is normal, and I had no idea why. The vet thinks it’s a food allergy, so I’ve got him on Science Diet ZD ($$) for the time being. He’s never shown any signs of allergy before, so I’m hoping it’s just a temporary thing, but we’ll see.
The boy has been suffering and hiding ever since I kicked all the clawed kitties out of the bedroom two weeks ago, to free Dusty and Echo to relax and even eat during the nighttime hours. At her last visit, the vet expressed concern over Echo’s weight loss, so I thought I owed it to her to change things up.
It’s been grand cuddling with Dusty every night, but it’s not worth it if Jules suffers so much. I had no idea he was in such bad shape until the vet pointed out the sores on the inside of his upper lips. Poor guy.
Hopefully the shots and food change will set him right soon.

What a difference a day makes. Jules started responding wonderfully to the treatment and food after just a day. He's back to his happy, friendly old self again, and his fur has already started growing back. No pink, bare legs, although his belly has always been pink and bare. I think it's kinda cute, but then again, I would.
