This morning around 5am, after my furry alarm clock (Max) woke me up for a good scritching, I was blessed by a visit from my little lady Lucky. She’ll usually wander around the top of my bed, letting me scratch her back (especially right above the tail), but this morning, she actually settled down right on top of my chest, and let me rub her neck and chin!

Then she did the totally unexpected - she started licking my fingers! This is another first for her, actually enjoying being touched enough to reward me with a little sweet tongue action. I’m so happy!

Little Rocky is a strange little kitty. She’s the only one of my “pounce” that doesn’t like her neck being rubbed. But she does love to have her back scratched, and always sleeps on my bed. She loves my “smell", and rolls around in my dirty laundry whenever I fail to put it in the hamper.

Right now she’s rolling around on the floor of my office, licking and biting my feet (in play). This morning I saw her carrying around a foam rubber ball and batting it around the dining room. Still a kitten, she’s probably the same height and weight as Dusty, although her shorter fur makes her appears smaller. For some reason, Dusty doesn’t always leave her alone. Maybe it’s Rocky’s playful streak that irritates the big girl, but sometimes she’s been known to hiss and chase the little girl out of the room.

Rocky and Julius can often be found sleeping on top of my bed, near each other, but not really “together". I think this girl just likes it in the warmer and quieter part of the house when she sleeps, and who can blame her? Everybody upstairs likes her just fine.

Lucky and Rocky are still best buds, sleeping and playing together daily. I’m so glad I brought home beautiful grey girl home.

Atlanta is getting a whole bunch more rain today. We got something like 5″ yesterday, and flood warnings are all over the place. Just two years ago we experienced a drought. Now we’re at the other extreme. Wow!

Monday, after getting home from my business trip to NJ, I stopped at my favorite spot for lunch. Backing the car out of the parking space, I ran into a truck that was passing by. Didn’t see it coming and just went BOOM!. Nobody was hurt, just some body damage to both vehicles. Yesterday morning I dropped off my car at my insurance company’s concierge center, where they took it to get estimates and be repaired. They also supplied me with a rental (a nice big 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis). Later on, they called to tell me the repair price and that I should get my car back on Friday. I feel like they treated me very well. Hopefully they will treat the other driver well too.

He gets scritched anytime he wants it. And he regularly proves that to me by rubbing against my leg and mewing softly. Such a sweet boy. I wish he’d let me pick him up and hold him for more than a few seconds.
